If you are running email campaigns in 2025 and not A/B testing, you are leaving money on the table. At ASPEKT, we generate over $300,000 per month in email revenue for our clients, and it is not by luck. It is a repeatable system built on testing, optimizing, and execution.
Finding what works comes from constant, structured testing. Here is the exact framework we use across all our Klaviyo accounts.
One of the biggest mistakes brands make is testing too many variables at once. Changing subject lines, content, and send times all at once makes it impossible to know what actually worked.
When you test one variable at a time, you isolate the cause and can confidently scale what wins.
Here is how we structure it:
Testing subject lines: Optimize for open rates.
Testing email content: Optimize for click-through rates.
Testing offers or product positioning: Optimize for revenue and AOV.
Each test focuses on a single goal and metric. Keep it simple and measurable.
If your list is under 1,000 contacts, full A/B testing is not worth the time. The sample size is too small, and results will be inconsistent.
Once you cross 2,000 to 3,000 contacts, testing becomes meaningful. A 20% lift now translates to hundreds or even thousands of extra dollars instead of pocket change.
That is when A/B testing starts to drive the needle in a noticeable way.
Klaviyo makes split testing simple once you know what to test.
Create a Campaign and Click “Create A/B Test.”
You can test content or send time. Start with content first.
Set Up Variations.
Version A: Keep your control.
Version B: Change one thing (subject line, CTA, image, color, etc.).
Choose Your Metric.
For subject lines, test open rate.
For design and content, test click rate.
For offers, test total revenue.
Set Your Split.
Send to 50% of your audience (25% to each variation). Once Klaviyo picks a winner, it automatically sends the winning variation to the remaining 50%.
This process eliminates guesswork and maximizes every campaign send.
Once you’ve tested your content, move on to send times. Timing can make or break engagement.
There are two main ways to test send times:
Manual A/B Test:
Split your list and send one half in the morning, the other half in the evening.
Smart Send Time (Klaviyo Automation):
Klaviyo’s “Smart Send Time” runs a 24-hour exploratory test to learn when your audience opens, clicks, and buys the most. After three weeks and several campaigns, it identifies your peak performance window automatically.
For one of our clients, Klaviyo identified 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. as the top engagement window. It was unusual, but it consistently generated the highest revenue.
Let the data tell you when your subscribers are most active.
Every test fits into one of three performance stages:
Opens – Driven by subject lines and send times.
Clicks – Driven by call-to-actions and offer design.
Purchases – Driven by offers and landing page experience.
If your open rate is low, test your subject line or timing.
If clicks are low, test your content layout or CTA.
If sales are low, test your offer or product positioning.
Testing in this order ensures you fix issues at the right stage of the funnel.
A/B testing should not be complicated. Test one variable, collect data, and move fast.
We see too many brands stuck in “analysis mode” where they overthink tests instead of running them. Meanwhile, we are launching two to three tests per week per client, collecting data, and scaling what works.
Small tests, done consistently, lead to massive gains over time.
Once you find a winner, roll it out to future campaigns. Over time, your testing data becomes your playbook. You will know what subject lines get opens, what designs get clicks, and what offers convert to sales.
The goal is not to guess better. It is to eliminate guessing completely.
Email marketing success in 2025 is not about luck. It is about structure, data, and iteration.
